3 crazy effective lead magnets

Do you need some really really effective ways to generate leads? If so, we’re presenting you lead magnets! What are lead magnets? They are exquisite offers you make for your readers – they’re giving you information about them and you’re giving them something valuable in return.

I would explain lead magnets in one simple sentence: “I’m gonna make him an offer he can’t refuse” (quote from The Godfather). Here are 3 crazy effective lead magnets:

#1 Quiz / IQ Test

This one’s of my favourite examples because I do quizzes all the time, so I had to start with it.

Why is it amazing?

Because people love to fill out quizzes and tests where they can learn more about themselves. We want to know if we’re good at something, what is our biggest quality or similar, and quizzes are promising us that.

It’s always good to create a quiz about a theme similar to your blog or website. It makes sense because new leads will be appropriate for your email list. Also, you need to ask for email address when the quiz is finished. If you do it earlier, almost every person will quit. But, if they do the quiz first, at the end you should ask for their email address in order to send them the results. And there you have it – new leads, because they want to know the results so bad! 🙂

#2 Free trial

For example, we all know that you can download all of the Adobe products for free – but you can use it for free only as long as the trial version lasts. After that, the app will let you know that you have to buy full version in order to continue using it.

Why is it amazing?

First of all, people will have the opportunity to try something they’re interested in. Second of all, it’s free! Of course, only around 20% of people will buy full version later on, but you still gained new emails for your list.

#3 Coupons

How many times you’ve seen an pop-up on some website with the sentence “20% off – ONLY TODAY” or something similar? Coupons are very common example of lead magnets.

Why is it amazing?

Admit that you love the idea that you can get something cheaper than it really costs? We all do! So if your blog/website is about selling some product or service, you can always try with this one. For example, if you’re selling handmade natural cosmetics, you can add a pop-up with the text “10% off on your next purchase”. It means every person who signs up and leaves an email will get a discount. It’s a win-win: they will get a product cheaper and you’ll grow your email list!
