Although we all might think that growing email list is an online thing, we need to start thinking outside of the box (when I say “the box” I mean lap top). It can seem needlessly because the Internet can do it all, but the power of face to face interaction shouldn’t be neglected. That’s why I want to draw your attention to 3 offline tricks to gather emails and boost your site:
#1 Hosting an event
This might seem complicated and requires a lot of money and other resources, but the key is in planning. Few tips are crucial for planning the event: think about the cause of the event, resources you’ll need and people who can help you out with the event.
Cause should match up to your business: if your business is about healthy eating and healthy products, an event should be about healthy lifestyle. You can promote your own products as well as similar products from other manufacturers. Plan all of the resources you’ll need: time, money, staff, location, equipment… Plan out every single detail and then you’ll be able to add or eject parts of your plan based on resources. Ask people you know to help you out, that will lower the expenses.
Now let’s think about why hosting an event might be important? The answer is – people, people, people! You can promote your business in front of new people (which means new potential customers). Your website address should be visible everywhere, free testing of the products and hostesses should carry tablets with short quizzes – that way you’ll grow email list. As told, plan it all well and it will be a total success!
#2 Sandwich boards
Now you’re thinking “what does my business has to do with sandwiches”? Nothing, but it sandwich boards could be helpful. This trick can be applied only if you own a physical store – so, if you do read carefully. 🙂
Store owners use sandwich boards to write all kinds of stuff: promotions, wi-fi password, funny quotes… So, why don’t you use it to inform people and passers about your website and newsletter? You have nothing to lose, it’s not demanding, costs (almost) nothing… Just think about the text on the board, because that will appeal people to sign up to your newsletter or to visit your website. Simple as that!
#3 Organize giveaways in your store
This is used among different businesses for all kinds of reasons – you can organize a giveaway in order to grow your email list, boost website and promote your business. You can do this both online and offline.
If you organize a giveaway, you’ll be able to track the results, but before you do it – preparation is the key. Set your goals straight: why do you organize a giveaway, what do you want to achieve and how to do it. Next, define how will the giveaway look like: will you give some product, coupons, discount or money.
When you have it all defined, do it. Online you can promote your giveaway on website, blog, Social media… Offline, create an application form and ask your customers in store to fill their information in order to participate in the giveaway and receive gifts.
